If you find yourself visiting Oman, then you will certainly be in your element with regard to tourist attractions and things to see and do. First up you should make sure that you take time to visit the seaside in Shatti Al Qurum. It is a lovely set-up of coffee shops, cafes and stores where you will be able to sit outside or in and chill out with a cup of your favourite drink. You will be able to take a walk along the beach dipping your feet into the water. You’ll also see that the place is packed full of tourists, especially if you are visiting in the winter months.

Second up on your list should be a walk around the PDO area. It is located in Ras Al Hamrya, if you are a fan of fantastic walks and hikes the you will be able to park at the very bottom where the banks are and walk up lovely hills to get to the top where the views are amazing! You will be able to look out over the whole of the area, and see the sea, beach and city of Muscat. It is a simply must see destination.

Thirdly, you must take time out to go and see the new opera house that has recently reared its head. It’s open to guests, and you will be able to purchase a ticket to one of the shows that take place. The architecture alone is worth taking a look at, even if you do not like opera.

Fourth up on the list would have to be the Grand Mosque. Located just past the Ghala warehouse area of Oman, you can access the mosque either as a view on the road towards Seeb, or you can get out of the car from the Ghala roads. It is a magnificent structure and the largest mosque in Oman.
Fifth up should be a drive to Shangirlia Barr Jissa hotel. You don’t have to go inside but simply to drive around the roads in the area is enough, for the roads are breath-taking. Not a place if you’re scared of heights though as it will see you high up in the sky! The air also drops when you reach the top of the roads.

Sixth on the list is Jebel Al Akdar- You have to get off your backside and go there. You will need a jeep car though and may have to rent to be permitted access. There are police that take the number of your vehicle down before entering, and cars are not allowed. You will be able to experience coming out of Oman’s heat – to go to the top of a mountain where the rain falls and the weather is comparable to that of the UK! Make sure to take your coat along.

And finally, you have to go to Muscat grand mall. A new shopping mall opened up in the Ghobra area of Oman. You will have a fantastic time in the Dubai styled franchise packed mall.

Oman has it all for tourists.
